Suicide Bomber Hits Nova Scotia House

Apparently driven mad by recent U.S. election results, a brown speckled willow ptarmigan launched herself from a balsam tree into the doublepaned window of a Nova Scotia seaside home.

The bird broke her neck and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries, besides the distress of the house's occupants. The Guy, still holding his camera, wrung his hands. The Girl, holding a large wad of newsprint, tenderly wrapped the still-warm game bird, depositing the body in a hollow at the base of a large boulder.

A few hours later, a male willow ptarmigan was seen crossing the gravel driveway. The Guy and Girl were struck by the fact that medium-sized, wild avian creatures exhibit greater fidelity in grief than many human beings...
